I’m Shomari McLemore, a certified HR professional who is passionate about helping organizations build strong, people-centered workplaces. Since 2008, I’ve led HR functions across industries including healthcare, education, and nonprofits—partnering with executive teams to design and implement strategies that drive both business results and employee satisfaction. My expertise spans the full HR lifecycle that includes:
Compliance & Risk Management
Recruiting & Onboarding
Learning & Development
Performance Management
I hold certifications in Human Resources Administration, Retirement Plan Administration, and earned a Master’s in Organizational Management from Antioch University Santa Barbara.
Today, through my consulting practice, I provide à la carte HR services to small businesses—offering scalable, on-demand expertise that helps leaders stay compliant, attract and retain talent, and create thriving workplace cultures.
When I’m not working with clients, I serve on the Board of Directors at Hope Counseling Center and enjoy being part of the Santa Barbara community with my family.
My goal is to take the stress out of HR so you can focus on growing your business and leading your team with confidence.
-Beyond HR-
Outside of consulting, my most important role is serving as Chief Family Officer. At home, I approach leadership much the same way I do at work — with intentionality, empathy, and a commitment to growth.
As both a small business owner and a family man, I understand firsthand the challenge of balancing professional responsibilities with what matters most personally. Being a husband and father has taught me the value of building trust, setting clear expectations, and creating an environment where people can thrive.
These lessons shape the way I serve clients — reminding me that strong businesses, like strong families, are built on relationships, clarity, and care. For me, family is both the foundation and the inspiration for how I lead, and it fuels my belief that workplaces should support the whole person, not just the employee.
